Frequency Domain System Identification Toolbox for Matlab: Characterizing Nonlinear Errors of Linear Models

چکیده
System identification often means the determination of linear models from input-output data. The behaviour of many systems can be described by an s-domain or z-domain transfer function model, at least for a given excitation amplitude range. The quality of the fit can be assessed by the analysis of the residuals, that is, of the difference between the measured data and the model. However, even slight nonlinearities can be misleading, by causing part of the residuals non-explicable by the linear model. We cannot simply tell if the excess residual error is due to undermodelling or to nonlinear system behaviour. This can 14th IFAC Symposium on System Identification, Newcastle, Australia, 2006 lead to erroneous overmodelling. Therefore, characterisation of the nonlinear system behaviour is essential in the verification of line The Frequency Domain System Identification To analysis tools of nonlinear system behaviour. This paper describes the latest developments for the CONtinuous-Time System IDentification (CONTSID) toolbox to be run with Matlab which includes time-domain identification methods for estimating continuous-time models directly from sampled data. The main additions to the new version aim at extending the available methods to handle wider practical situations in order to enhance the application ...
متن کاملAn integrated System Identification tool- box for linear and non-linear models
The paper describes additions to the Matlab System Identi cation Toolbox, that handle also the estimation of nonlinear models. Both structured grey-box models and general, exible black-box models are covered. The idea is that the look and feel of the syntax, and the graphical user interface should be as close as possible to the linear case.

We present an application of the SIPPI Matlab toolbox, to obtain a sample from the a posteriori probability density function for the classical tomographic inversion problem. We consider a number of different forward models, linear and non-linear, such as ray based forward models that rely on the high frequency approximation of the wave-equation and ’fat’ ray based forward models relying on fini...
متن کاملExtension for the Frequency Domain System Identification Toolbox: Graphical User Interface, Objects, Improved Numerical Stability
An Extension to the Frequency Domain System Identification Toolbox for MATLAB has been developed. It adds a simple-to-use Graphical User Interface to the existing toolbox. It increases numerical stability by using orthogonal polynomials. Both periodic and nonperiodic excitation signals can be used by proper modeling in the frequency domain. Systems in closed loop can also be identified. Objects...
متن کاملDynamic Modeling and Identification of The Hydro Turbine Using Field Test Data (Case Study: Abbaspour Power Plant)
In order to study the stability and fast dynamic of the power grid, modeling and identification of hydropower plant systems such as turbine, governor and excitation is required. Turbine is a mechanical device and usually identified through field tests. In this paper, the identification of the unit 8 of Abbaspour power plant is conducted. The linear and nonlinear model of the Francis turbine are...
